We have been trying to think about those issues, and we don 't have complete answers yet, of course, only small answers. This is what I mean when I say that I don't think that Gestalt therapy, or any psycotherapy method for that matter, has really tried to figure out what we mean by implicit knowledge : how it works and what makes it different. I think that one of the reasons why the Boston Change Process Study Group and I have been so interested in implicit knowledge, and how it is different from explicit, is that we have been forced by the reality of what a baby is to look at this.
